We welcome mascot proposals from all members of the Oakwood School community. Please use the form below to submit your proposal. Your proposal will be reviewed by the Mascot Task Force and a select number of proposals will be presented for a vote by Oakwood students, faculty, staff, alumni, current parents/guardians, and trustees to select Oakwood’s new mascot.
GUIDELINES
Our goal is to imagine a mascot that will inspire passion and pride throughout the Oakwood School community for many generations to come. Our new mascot will:
Be true to everything that makes Oakwood unique through its connection to our school’s character, culture, traditions, and history.
Be one that all members of our community can be proud of, aligning with Oakwood’s belief in inclusivity and community.
Be a symbol that inspires Oakwood students to strive towards excellence in athletics and other pursuits, while also being a positive symbol of Oakwood School for us all.
Remain in Oakwood’s traditional team colors of red and black.
Since we are committed to finding a mascot as unique as Oakwood… we’re also unable to consider mascots that are already in use by schools in the area or that Oakwood competes against in athletics. A list of those mascots can be found here.
